Solaria has informed the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV) of the closing of a long-term energy purchase and sale agreement (PPA) with Trafigura, a Singapore-based multinational dedicated to the trading of base metals and energy.

According to the statement, Solaria will supply the multinational with 1 terawatt hour of energy during the agreed 10 years.

The energy will come from a 50 megawatt (MW) photovoltaic project in Spain. Specifically, the Cifuentes-Trillo complex, in Guadalajara, which has a capacity of 626 MW. This plant generates enough energy to supply more than 300,000 homes.

“It is an honor to start this collaboration with Trafigura, a leading global supplier of raw materials. We are grateful for the trust placed in Solaria to accompany them as an energy partner for the next decade,” commented Darío López, CEO of Solaria.

Igor Marin, Director of Gas and Energy at Trafigura, said: “We are delighted to announce this long-term agreement with Solaria, a leading solar developer in Spain. The agreement with Solaria provides us with the ability to combine differently designed PPAs and offer individual products for our customers.”
